(Egyptian green)

A smaller species, B. leptochelys is quite a popular collector's scorpion. Packing a painful sting to say the very least, it is recommended you read up on this and any other scorpion available on this site. They're all potentially dangerous to some degree, with the usual exception of the big, black Emperor (barring allergies). Any Buthacus is no exception, regardless of size, to the rule of having a healthy respect for what foreign scorpions pack. This gorgeous little guy is an absolute gem, though. I threw in the UV picture because I felt I didn't capture its true color in the above pics. Even in regular light, this species seems to glow an almost irridescent green, hence the common name!
